Animal Rights Activism

For grades 8 - 11

Course Description:
Throughout this course we will cover several aspects of animal rights activism. Students will cover topics ranging from animal testing to puppy/kitten mills, factory vs. humane farming, animal rescue, and so much more. Students will interact with several guest speakers such as humane educators, animal rescue directors, and service dogs. We will visit local animal shelters and farms, as well as try some delicious vegan restaurants. We will learn about basic animal safety and what to do when you see a stray animal. Students will tackle the basics around many of the animal rights issues we are facing today.
